Donate

As most of you may know our dear friend and talented artist is battling Stage 4 pancreatic cancer and is undergoing aggressive treatments. During this time she is not able to work and thus this fundraiser was formed. If you are able to donate anything, I’m sure it will be greatly appreciated by her and her family. Here is the link:

Huge Thank You

I was recently contacted by long ago member, Angie Herman, she is down-sizing from her home and wanted to donate some books and a slant board to the Guild. I will try to bring them to the meeting on Saturday to see if we can incorporate into our Library cart. Thanks to her for thinking of us.

Graceful Envelope

The Washington Calligraphers Guild is pleased to announce the 2025 Graceful Envelope Contest theme — “Go Fourth” — because we’ve reached the first quarter of this century, or one-fourth of 100 years. Explore something that comes in fours, is associated with sets of four, or is commonly cut into fourths. For example, the phases of the moon, the points of a compass, the seasons, an apple that’s been quartered.

Then, using artistry, hand lettering, and the integration of postage stamps into your design, create an envelope that captures your interpretation of the theme. For inspiration, view past winning envelopes. Only the front of the envelope will be judged, and in four age categories: adults and three student divisions. Please pass along this email to letter lovers and your children’s art teachers.

There is no entry fee; only one entry per person. Postmark deadline: Monday, March 31, 2025. The complete call for entries is here, but if you still have questions, contact contest committee member Rosalee Anderson at rosaleescribe@gmail.com

Notes:

Some of our meetings will need to be held in the main Evendale Cultural Arts Building off Reading Rd. This affects our November, March and April meetings, due to event conflicts. I will try to point that out in upcoming e-mails and added it to the side calendar at the left.Stay Creative. Stay Safe. Be Well.

The Greater Cincinnati Calligrapher’s Guild is open to anyone with an interest in the lettering arts.
