FIELD TRIP
We have a field trip scheduled for Saturday at 10AM, January 21, 2017, as our next scheduled meeting. It will be held at a local printer who specializes in wedding invitation printing. We will be meeting at Dirty Helen Paper Co., 10172 International Blvd., Cincinnati, OH 45246. There is plenty of parking and minimal steps into the building. Please contact Jennifer for additional questions. Another reminder will be sent out closer to the date.

Introduction to Pointed Pen Calligraphy

Level: Beginner to Intermediate
Join Kei Goodman, calligrapher and principal behind Haniya Calligraphy Studio, for an Introduction to Pointed Pen Workshop. Whether you’ve never held a pointed pen or are wanting to refine your skills, this all-day workshop is a great way to learn foundational knowledge of pointed pen calligraphy and enhance your current script. You’ll learn best practices, how to correctly use calligraphy tools and inks, a simple flourish, and more.
They’ll discuss the foundational structures of pointed pen letterforms, that serve as a baseline for formally learning Copperplate script, English Roundhand, or Engrosser’s script in the future and refining your own contemporary scripts now.
All workshop materials are included in the fee which you will take home (quality paper, nibs, pens, inks, ink containers, and a complete workbook of everything you learned in the workshop to continue to review long after the workshop is over).
Light refreshments will be provided, and break briefly for lunch on site (or you can hop over to a nearby restaurant). It will be lots of fun, hands on learning, and hopefully, you’ll leave having enjoyed a wonderful experience and wanting to learn more!
