March 19: Calligraphy Animals and Flowers

Calligraphy Animals and Flowers

Please join us for our next meeting, Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 10 a. m. (doors open at 9:30 a.m.) to noon at the Evendale Cultural Arts Center where Marguerite Katchen will be demonstrating how to draw simple but graceful animals or flowers with a few stokes of a broad based pen. No drawing experience is necessary. Animals and flowers can also be used for borders.

You’ll need to bring:

  • Paper that doesn’t bleed with a marker (good quality copy paper will work, as will Rhodia, Mnemosyne, Classic Crest or Sennelier papers, or paper intended for pens, such as vellum, calligraphy, drawing paper planned for inks, or other paper or cardstock with a well-sized surface.)
  • Colored, broad  markers (3.5 to 5 mm width). Broad dip pens or Parallel pens will work but it is easier to learn to do the animals with markers.

Photocopied direction sheets will be provided. There is no charge.
