In the Guild’s winter presentation of styles: Blackletter, italic, and batarde, italic is the the transformational hand. Invented centuries ago, today, hand-written italic alphabets remain ever-popular for quotations, wedding invitations, art calligraphy and improving personal handwriting style.
Karen McMannon, who literally wrote the book on italic (four workbooks) will present the history, formation, and possibilities of this versatile style on Saturday, March 21 from 10 – 12:30 at the Symmes Township branch of the Cincinnati Public Library.
