Please join us for our regularly scheduled meeting, Sat., Oct. 21 at 10 a.m. We will be meeting at the Bell Tower Arts Pavilion building. This will be a Halloween themed meeting. It seems several people noticed the technique using bleach on black or colored paper and wanted to learn the technique. We are also going to test some samples of doing black (ink) on black (paper) so we thought this a perfect combo for a Halloween themed meeting.
Things to bring:
- Wear old clothes, did I mention using bleach.
- Black inks you may want to try.
- Writing instrument of your choice, brushes, nibs/holders etc.
- Black or dark papers, but we will have these so we can, hopefully, get the same results together.
- Pastels or colored pencils
Don’t worry we will have plenty of supplies so don’t run out and buy anything.
While the art above does not actually replicate what we’ll be doing, it is a cool piece done on black paper with colored pencils and illustrates Halloween.
Books by the Banks
A question was brought up about our participation in the event demonstrating calligraphy. Taking a quick poll to see if anyone is interested and we’ll be asking this question at our meeting. The date is Nov. 18 and is the same date as our next meeting.
Membership
Well, it’s been a while since we have asked for dues from our members. We didn’t feel we could ask during the Covid pandemic since we really didn’t offer any programming to justify asking for dues, but the time has come and our membership timeframe goes from Sept. to Sept. and is $30 per year. So, please feel free to bring cash or check to the meeting on Saturday. If you prefer you can pay your dues via our website using a credit card. Here is the like to make that easier.
